“From dawn till dusk” is documentary made by Dražen Žarković.
It captures a working day in a life of the performance artist Tomislav Gotovac.
One camera shows Gotovac practicing common household activities in streets and squares in Zagreb (sleeping in a bed in the middle of Jelačić Square, vacuuming the streets, urinating in a loo placed in front of the railway station, dining spaghetti on the railroad, etc.), and the other camera takes mostly completely opposite citizens’ reactions on this artist’s activities, which result in many hilarious situations.
“From dawn till dusk” is a detailed portrait of Tomislav Gotovac, but it is also a study about mentality in Zagreb, and a bizarre picture postcard.
