The film “After the Winter” is Montenegro’s Oscar nominee

The decision was made unanimously by the election commission of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

“After the Winter” is the story of five childhood friends in their late twenties, who now live in different parts of the former Yugoslavia and trying to maintain their friendship despite the distance that separates them.
They oppose the patriarchal creed, ignoring the consequences of war and an impoverished economy. One year, their care free escapist youth suddenly comes to an end.

Directed and written by Ivan Bakrač, director of photography is Dušan Grubin, editor Nataša Pantić, sound design by Dario Domitrović, Tomislav Hleb and Dušan Maksimovski.

The lead roles are: Ivona Kustudić, Ana Vucković, Momčilo Otašević, Petar Burić and Maja Šuša.

The film is produced by Artikulacija film (Macedonia) and ABHO Film (Macedonia) and co-produced by Akcija Film (Serbia), Biberche Productions (Serbia), Maxima Film (Croatia) and Arizona Productions (France).
